Eddy Mayaya began his artistic career as a videast before becoming passionate about styling.
He has participated in several workshops and produced several short films including “Contre-jour” in which Eddy films the daily life of people who live in the university area of the city of Lubumbashi.
As a stylist, Eddy wants to revalue African fabrics and how they are perceived. His last work “KIZOBA – ZOBA”; a lingala term which refers to an amalgam of fabrics of loincloths carelessly mending; Eddy has revalorized a model of long-neglected accoutrement in the south of the DR Congo.
In the Chinafrica project, Eddy will present a textile work that will illustrate the Chinese influence in Congolese fashion.
