Opeyemi Balogun was born in Lagos,Nigeria in 1982 and has been living and working there since. He is a photographer, researcher and aspiring curator. He has worked as a commercial photographer/ freelance photojournalist and a curatorial/gallery assistant. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. He was part of the technical team at Lagos Live 2016 organized by the Goethe Institut, Lagos.He has worked as a gallery/curatorial intern at Osh Gallery, Yaba. He has been a part of the press team responsible for daily newsletters at the iREP Documentary Film Festival since 2013. Opeyemi has a multidisciplinary approach to the arts and its intersection with design, commerce, advertising, cultural anthropology, popular culture, politics, literature, social activism and urbanism through photography, documentary filmmaking, writing,performance and street art.
